The Art of Becoming Wise

He that knows, knows that he knows not everything.

And knows there’s more to learn.

He’s wise,

For he’s open to new information every day.

He stays humble,

With an open ear and an open mind,

Not captive to one thing,

But open to everything.

For in everything there’s something to learn,

And with what he learns,

He strives and sees the light of the day.

And though not every day may be great,

The sun still shines each day.

So in some way or form, the day must be bright.

And from the goodness in one’s heart,

Joy will rise,

Reminding one how blessed they are to be alive.

For so many lives are lost to vanity in this society.

People lose every day, but also win every day.

So to see the losses more than the wins

Is to live in a trap, blind to the art of life.

A trap that is a kind of hell,

And there is only one way to escape.

So one must start to see the wins,

For we are blessed,

We are here to create.

And within us lies purpose.

A purpose to walk in light,

To love what’s natural,

To protect what’s sacred,

To live in truth,

And rise each day

As if the world depends on our becoming.

For in being ourselves,

We keep the world alive,

And in sharing love,

The universe continues to smile.
